THE FINE FOOD STORE

Shop 4/595 Darling St, Rozelle

Where in Sydney do you have the staff stop and chat about what you are buying and show an incredible interest in food?

Well I have to say I was taken back when I ventured into this wonderful store in downtown Rozelle.

The first impression that came from the store was the level of excellence, firstly in the calibre of staff, then in the visual displays of the food and of course the product itself.
Not only was the shop staff welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable but they were foodies and enjoyed what they did!

I finally found the dried black limes that Susie Collett from Lime Grove had recommend I try.

The cheese room was like a drawing room for foodies... yes.. it drew you into the chamber of ooziness and dairy heaven.

All I can say is congratulations to the manager Helen who runs such a gourmet delight! The stock on the shelf highlighted regional Australia as well as some local Rozelle and Balmain wares.

It was wonderful to visit my ancestral home. My great great grandmother used to cook for sailors who would venture from the docks at the end of Darling St. Don't think she would be using a ripe brie but then around the principles of great cooking are always use the best ingredients. I'm sure she would have followed that rule!

This place is surrounded by excellence. They have weekend tastings that will delight your tastebuds, have an array of meals to go for the epicurean takeaway, you can buy some gift hampers and while you are there... subscribe to their newsletter. No worries for those interstate or country people. Their online presence is up and away. Click on their name to see their web site.
